Sunshine Levasseur

Sunshine Levasseur (Giizhigookwe-Sky Woman) is an Anishinaabe Artist and proud member of Ebb and Flow First Nation (Gaa-gwekwekojiwang) Manitoba Canada. Sunshine began to draw and paint as a child. From a young age she knew that the arts were something she wanted to pursue professionally. She is currently striving towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Manitoba. Sunshine grew up in a family of beadwork artists and regalia makers, she considers her mom as one of her biggest inspirations. She is also inspired by the stories and ways of her culture. Her artistry consists of vibrant floral paintings on canvas and rawhide. Sunshine would describe her floral paintings as lively, each flower is connected and blooms from one. She is completely self taught. Sunshine also runs a small business called Miss Ribbons with her sister Iroc Levasseur where they share their creations.
