Sylvia Nayokpuk

Sylvia is an Inupiaq artist and seamstress from Shishmaref (Kigiqtaq), Alaska. Growing up living off the land, she attributes her artistry to her community for establishing culture and traditions in the younger generations. She dedicates each piece to her late mother, ensuring the beauty and quality of the designs would make her proud. Sylvia’s most recent pieces include creating with fabrics and furs to make traditional and contemporary garments that can be worn for both special occasions and everyday use.
